I started this blog because a dear friend (and fellow gamer) launched a friends-only monthly newsletter where anyone in our circle could share whatever they wanted. My first submission was a review of Dragon Age: The Veilguard. As someone who struggles with writing anxiety, I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed putting my thoughts on paper. A few weeks later, my wife and I began debating what makes a game “cozy”—which, of course, led to my next newsletter submission. That’s when I realized how much I enjoyed this process of overthinking video games in writing. And so, NPC Dilemma was born—a space where I can write about games whenever inspiration strikes, leaving my newsletter submissions for actual life updates (if I feel like it).

I live in Kansas with my beautiful wife, my silly dog, and my caviling cat. Outside my office job, I am a queer Dungeon Master for a D&D 5e campaign, a CrossFit athlete, and an avid gamer. I have a BA in Humanities, a MA in Classical Studies (Latin Literature), and once, inexplicably, I touched the head of an exposed mummy in an open sarcophagus. I suppose that means that this blog may be cursed.
